All websites I make are made in WordPress. It is well supported on the web and is easy for you to edit after handover. I don’t keep control of your site, but rather give you full access once the build is complete. Unless you would prefer me to handle all that for you.
Below are some of my favourite sites to date with a peak at their homepages.
Enya is an up-and-coming photographer shooting mostly weddings and couples in love. She needed a site to showcase a selection of her work, with a strong focus on encouraging visitors to get in touch with her for bookings. The subtle, yet noticeable calls to action lead visitors to her contact page.
Her branding is feminine, with lovely colour, so we wanted to bring that through the site without the colour becoming overpowering. All whilst keeping the focus on her pictures.
She liked the idea of doing something a little bit different and having an artisitic element to the site. I loved this idea and created a collapsible side navigation menu and offset blocks of colour to contrast the photos. I incorporated the lovely, delicate illustration that is part of her branding and kept the whole site minimal with lots of negative space.
Rick and Sheira's Wedding
A site celebrating love and the marriage of the lovely Sheira and Rick. The one-page site features illustrations and the fonts from their invitation, as well as happy pictures of them.
The site serves to provide guests easy access to the date and time of the ceremony as well as the venue and an interactive map. There is also a link to their gift list and a instagram grid for their wedding hashtag.
A section to submit songs for their playlist was added at Rick’s request. And my personal favourite – a countdown timer to the ceremony!
Dave brings joy to the world with his happy confetti. So the website needed to reflect that fun!
I worked closely with Dave’s sister-in-law Derryn (of Derryn Schmidt Photography) on this site; she created many of the design elements and had a lot of influence on the overall design of the site. She and I created this lovely site and wrote the copy throughout.
Dave’s Shop is a fully functioning e-commerce store.
I just love how fun and light this site is!
JetBlack is a boutique booking agency for electronic music artists in Cape Town. They were looking for something bold and different; something that stood out and expressed their artistic vibe.
I created a strong geometric background using the colour palette chosen by Jarrad, the main dude at JetBlack. Each page has a slightly different background. we stuck to plain black and white text and buttons throughout the site. The shiny new site linked through to their soundcloud and their booking platform was integrated as well.
I created a blog template for them to continue to use after the site was complete.
Oh Happy Day
One of my favourite sites to date, the shiny new site for Oh Happy Day was designed by the immensely talented Kim of Ruby + Swallow and built by me.
The site includes all the usual pages plus a lovely inspiration gallery page with on page filters as well as a very useful blog. To download the rate card visitors need to submit their details which are sent to a Mailchimp list and then an automatic response is sent with the rate card. I configured the Mailchimp account and set up the fully styled autoresponder to the list segment I created.
